Strategy Pauses Bitcoin Buying for a Fifth Straight Week While Building Up Cash
Strategy has held off on new bitcoin purchases for a fifth consecutive week, choosing instead to raise cash through a $544.5 million share sale. The company’s bitcoin holdings remain unchanged at 843,775 BTC, while its US dollar reserves grew to $3.75 billion. Strategy also repurchased $25 million of its STRC preferred stock as part of broader balance sheet management.
BitMine Expands Its Ethereum Reserve to Nearly 5.8 Million Coins, Almost 5% of Supply
BitMine has increased its ether holdings to 5.79 million ETH, equal to about 4.8% of total supply, after purchasing roughly 10,000 ETH last week. Close to 85% of these holdings are staked through the company’s own validators, and BitMine estimates annualized staking rewards near $299 million once fully deployed. The firm’s total crypto, cash, and securities were valued at $11.8 billion as of July 26.
Stablecoin Supply Shrinks by $7.7 Billion Even as Transaction Volume Hits a Record High
According to CoinGecko’s Q2 2026 Crypto Industry Report, total stablecoin market capitalization fell 1.6% in the second quarter of 2026, with June alone seeing a $7.7 billion drop – the sharpest monthly decline since 2022. At the same time, the report shows adjusted stablecoin transaction volume reached a record $1.79 trillion in June, suggesting funds are moving more actively rather than sitting idle. USDC saw the largest pullback among major stablecoins, while USDT held its position with around 60% of total supply.
