BitOasis is introducing Recurring Buy, a new feature that lets you set up automated, repeating purchases of a supported cryptocurrency on Web, Android, and iOS. In this article, we explain what Recurring Buy is, the investing concept behind it, Dollar-Cost Averaging (DCA), and walk through exactly how the feature works inside the app, step by step.
What is BitOasis Recurring Buy?
Recurring Buy lets you configure an automated purchase plan with the following parameters:
- Asset – The supported cryptocurrency you want to purchase
- Amount – A fixed fiat amount (in AED/ USD) contributed each time
- Frequency – Daily, Weekly, or Monthly
- Start date and time – When the plan begins
- Payment method – Your Wallet
Once set up, the plan executes automatically according to your chosen schedule. You retain full visibility and control at every stage: you can view all your plans, see the history of each purchase, and pause, resume, or cancel a plan at any time from “My Plans.”
What is Dollar-Cost Averaging (DCA)?
Dollar-Cost Averaging is a long-established investing approach in which a fixed amount of money is committed to an asset at regular intervals, for example, a set amount every week or every month, regardless of what the asset’s price is doing at each interval.
Because the contribution amount stays the same while price moves up and down, a fixed amount will purchase more units of an asset when the price is lower, and fewer units when the price is higher. Over a series of purchases, this produces an average cost per unit that reflects the full range of prices during that period, rather than the price at a single point in time.
It’s worth being direct about what this does and doesn’t do: DCA is a structured way of spreading purchases over time. It does not guarantee a profit, does not eliminate the risk of loss, and does not protect against a sustained decline in an asset’s price. Virtual assets are highly volatile, and the value of any holding, whether acquired through a single purchase or a recurring plan, can go down as well as up. Recurring Buy is a tool for managing how you make purchases over time; it is not a way of predicting or controlling market outcomes.
How Recurring Buy works in the app: a step-by-step walkthrough
Here’s how to set up a Recurring Buy plan in the BitOasis app.
Step 1: Access Recurring Buy
From the Home screen in the BitOasis app, tap Recurring to access Recurring Buy.

Step 2: Select an asset
Choose the supported virtual asset you’d like to include in your recurring plan.
The asset selection screen displays the supported assets and their current prices for reference. Selecting an asset does not execute a purchase; it simply determines which asset your recurring plan will apply to.

Step 3: Set your recurring amount
Enter the fixed amount in AED/USD that you want to use for each scheduled purchase.
Your available Wallet is displayed on the setup screen for reference.
Step 4: Choose how often the plan runs
Select how frequently you want the recurring purchase to take place:
Daily, Weekly, or Monthly.
The same fixed AED/ USD amount will be used according to the frequency you select.

Step 5: Set your starting date and time
Choose the date and time for your recurring plan to begin.
Future purchases will then be scheduled based on your selected frequency and starting date and time.
Step 6: Fund purchases from your Wallet
Recurring Buy purchases are funded directly from your Wallet.
Your Wallet is displayed during setup, so you can see the available balance before proceeding.

Step 7: Review your plan
Before confirming, you’ll see a preview of your Recurring Buy plan showing:
- Amount
- Asset
- Frequency
- Starting date and time
- Wallet
Review these details to make sure your plan is configured as intended.
Step 8: Confirm your Recurring Buy plan
Select Confirm to activate your Recurring Buy plan.
Once set up, you can return to the Recurring Buy section under My Account in Profile tap to view and manage your plans.
Managing your plan afterward
Once a plan is active, you can return to “My Plans” at any time to:
- View the status of each plan (Active, Pending, Paused, or Cancelled)
- Expand a plan to see its full detail and purchase history
- Pause a plan, which stops future purchases until you resume it
- Resume a paused plan
- Cancel a plan permanently – note that cancelling stops all future purchases; it does not affect assets already purchased under the plan
Understanding Recurring Purchase Plans
A recurring purchase plan allows users to schedule purchases at regular intervals using a fixed contribution amount. Rather than deciding when to make each individual purchase, the schedule is determined in advance according to the user’s selected frequency.
Some users choose recurring purchase plans as a way to structure purchases over time, while others may prefer making individual purchases manually. The appropriate approach depends on each person’s individual circumstances, objectives, and preferences.
Using a recurring purchase plan does not change the underlying characteristics or risks of the virtual assets being purchased. Virtual assets are highly volatile and may lose value. A recurring purchase plan changes only the timing and frequency of purchases and does not reduce investment risk or protect against losses.
Important Notice
- This article is educational content, not investment advice. It does not consider your personal financial situation, objectives, or risk tolerance, and should not be relied upon as a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any virtual asset.
- Virtual assets are high-risk. Their value can be highly volatile and may result in the loss of some or all of the funds invested, whether purchased through a single transaction or a recurring plan.
- A recurring/DCA approach does not guarantee a profit or prevent a loss. It does not protect against sustained price declines and does not eliminate downside risk.
- Regulatory licensing does not imply endorsement. Any licence or registration BitOasis holds with a regulator does not imply that the regulator endorses, approves, or guarantees the safety of any product, service, or virtual asset, and does not remove the risk of loss.
- Eligibility to use Recurring Buy requires a verified account and applicable jurisdiction and limit checks, which are reviewed both when a plan is created and each time it executes.
